85 Gokenzan Kanjizaiin Yakuriji

ご本尊　聖観世音菩薩

ご利益　家庭円満、五穀豊穣 政教一致 商売繁盛

ご真言　おん あろりきゃ そわか

ご詠歌　煩悩を 胸の智火にて八栗をば 修行者ならで 誰か知るべき

８つの栗

大師が中国留学に行く前に、その成果を占うため植えた８つの栗が、芽を出し、成長していたため、八栗寺と号した。

Eight chestnuts
Before Daishi studied abroad in China, he forecasted the prospects of it. He used eight chestnuts for it and they began to sprout and grew up, so he named this temple “Yaguriji.”

ミニ88ヶ所

霊場の本尊の石像と弘法大師石像が安置されている。巡礼することと同じ御利益があると言われている。

The statues from principal images and the statue of Kobodaihsi are enshrined, and it is said that there are as many divine favors as you pilgrim.
 

中将坊

夜に下山し、人々ののために良いことをして朝方に山に戻るさぬき三大天狗の一つ。中将坊堂脇に下駄を奉納して、翌日下駄が汚れていれば天狗のご利益があったと言われる。

Chujobo
Chujobo is one of the greatest Sanuki long-nosed goblin that climes down the mountain at night, and brings happiness to people, and comes back to the mountain in the morning. It is said that when you dedicate clogs by the hall of Chujobo and it becomes dirty on the following day, there are divine fortune from the long-nosed goblin.

弘法大師像

高松市内を一望できる場所に大師像が安置されている。
