弘法大師生誕の地、善通寺は真言宗善通寺派の総本山であり、京都東寺、紀州高野山、弘法大師の三大霊跡のひとつ。父・善通の名をとり「善通寺」と号した。

This is where Kobodaishi was born. Zentsuji is a head temple of Shingon Zentsuji school Buddhism. This is one of three major spirits mark of Kobodaishi, and others are Toji in Kyoto, Kisyu Koyasan, Kobodaishi. The name of Zentsuji comes after from Kobodaishi’s father’s name Zentsu.
