ご詠歌　十悪のわが身をすてずそのままに浄土の寺にまいりこそすれ

本堂は和様と唐様を折衷した室町時代の代表建築物で、国の重要文化財。

Main hall is representative structure of Muro period which combine of Japanese style and Chinese style. This is important Cultural Treasure.

遊行僧、念仏聖空也上人

本堂に安置されている空也上人像は、「南無阿弥陀仏」を唱えるひと言ひと言が、小さな六体の仏となり口から出ている。

念仏を踊りながらおもしろく唱える踊り念仏の功徳により極楽に往生する喜びを広めた人物であり、自ら刻んで残したといわれる自像が安置されている。

The six syllables of nembutsu, “na-mu-a-mi-da-bustu” are represented literally by six small figures of Amida from Kuya’s mouth. He is promoter of the practice of the nembutsu which added musical rhythm and dance among the common people in order to attain salvation and enter into Pure land of Amida.

お遍路さんの落書き

本尊の厨子には室町時代以降のお遍路さんの落書きがあり、遍路の歴史を今に伝える。

There are paintings and messages by henro in Muromachi era.
