第48番札所 清滝山 安養院 西林寺

The 48th Seiryuzan Anyoin Sairinji

ご本尊　十一面観音菩薩

ご利益　幸福、家庭円満

ご真言　おん まか きゃろにきゃ そわか

ご詠歌　弥陀仏の 世界をたずね行きたくば 西の林の 寺にまいれよ

大干ばつにより水不足に悩んでいた村を救済するため、大師が錫杖で湧出した「杖の淵」は、日本の名水百選に選ばれている。

“Tsue no Fuchi” Kukai held his stick here and prayed. As the result, water came up to save people suffering from drought. It has been chosen as top 100 natural water in Japan.

無間地獄

道路や川の土手より境内が低い所あることから、罪ある者が門を入ると奈落の底に落ちると遍路はよび、関所寺と呼ばれている。

死後、地獄に墜ちるか天国に行けるかは、地蔵と閻魔の話し合いにかかっている。

Because main hall is located lower place than road and bank, if someone has sin, he goes to the bottom of the hell. It also called Sekisho(check point).
