The 45th Kaiganzan Iwayaji

ご真言　のうまくさんまんだばざらだんせんだまかろしゃだそわたや

　　　　うんたらたかんまん

ご詠歌　大聖のいのる力のげに岩屋石のなかにも極楽ぞある

法華仙人

法華仙人という女仙人がこの山にこもり、神通力を持ち仙術を極めていた。この女仙人は大師の尊さに心打たれ、仏法に帰依したいと、一山を大師に献じた。

大師は、木と石で不動明王を彫り、石像を岩峰に封じて、全山を本尊とみたてた。

Originally this place was training for Hokke sennin who is female recluse. She impressed that Kukai was holy and noble. Therefore she wanted to become Buddhist and gave the mountain to Kukai. He carved Fudo Myoo from wood and stone, whole mountain became main deity.

山がご本尊

山門から本堂までは２６６段の石段が続き、本堂右の岩山は金剛界峰、左の鐘楼門側は胎蔵界峰と呼ばれている。険しい山肌には祠があり、仏像が飾られている。

From the gate to main hall, it has 266steps. Right side of main hall is Kongokaimine(peak), left side of bell tower is Taizoukaimine(peak). Surface of mountain is rough and enshrined Buddha statue.
