弘法大師は、牛をひていた老人にすすめられ、牛にのせてもらい、しばらく行くと楠の木が光り輝いているのをみつけた。それは、大師が唐から投げた宝珠であった。大師は、この地こそ霊地とさとり、楠木から本尊を刻んだ。

An old man pulling a cow and reached one big tree. He saw something shiny and found out that was his jewel when he left china. He throw it to east direction to find good place for temple. He decided to build temple here and carved main deity from that tree.
