第4番札所 黒厳山 遍照院 大日寺

The 4th Kokugenzan Henjyoin Dainichiji

ご本尊 釈迦如来

ご利益 一切の病が癒え、妊娠している人は無事出産できる

ご真言 おん あびらうんけん ばさらだどばん

ご詠歌 眺むれば 月白妙の夜半なれや ただ黒谷に 墨ぞめの袖

Grace        healing illness, safe deliver baby
Mantra       Om avirahumkham Vajra dhatuvam
Poem         when I saw far away, moonlight was clear and bright. I saw priest wearing black sleeves in black valley.

本尊の大日如来は、「宇宙の中心、万物の根元とされる人々にあまねく慈悲をもたらす最高の仏」とされている。

尊像は５〜６センチほどの小さな像であると伝承され、秘仏であるため拝観できない。

現在の堂宇は阿波の蜂須賀公により大修理され、蜂須賀家の守り本尊が大日如来であったことから篤く信仰された。

 

Main deity, DainichiNyorai, considered as “the higest Buddha” who is center of universe and created all things. This Buddha is only 5 to 6 cm tall, not opened to the public.

山門（鐘楼）

朱塗りで上部が鐘楼になっている真紅の鐘楼門。１回部分が門柱。二階部分が丸柱のつくりになっている。

Sanmon (Main gate), shourou (Bell tower)
This gate covered with red, upper part of gate is bell tower. Lower level is made gate pillar, upper part is made round pillar. 

西国三十三観音

本堂と大師堂をつなぐ回廊に、三十三体の木像観音像が安置されている。江戸時代に、大阪の信者が奉納した。

 

Ryogoku 33Kannon.
This cloister, between Main hall and Daishido, placed 33 wooden Kannon. Follower from Osaka dedicated it in Edo period.

お接待

昔の住職が伝染病、ハンセン病などの患者に対して、通夜堂を開放し、通夜堂に泊った貧しい人々に「信仰心さえあればお大師さんがお加護してくださる」といって、お世話やお接待を施した。

Osettai

Long time ago, chief priest opened Tsuya Hall for people who had Hansen’s disease. He was taking care of them told, “ as long as you have faith, Daishi will bless you.”
