厄坂
弘法大師42歳の時、天皇の勅命で、天皇と大師自らの厄除のために本尊厄除薬師如来を刻んだ。
四国一の厄除けの寺であり、徳島最後の札所である。
一段ごとに厄銭をそなえて、厄除け祈願をしながら階段をのぼる。厄銭の1円玉は、納経所で両替できる。
33段の女厄坂、42段の男厄坂、61段の還暦厄坂がある。
Kukai carved YakushiNyorai when he was 42 for Emperor and himself to prevent misfortune. This is the biggest preventing misfortune temple and last temple in Tokushima prefecture. Place sacred money every step and pray for preventing misfortune when you climb up stairs. You can exchange sacred 1 yen money at Nokeijyo. 33steps for women, 42 steps for men, and 61 for 60th celebration.
肺大師
本堂の脇に、弘法大師の石像を祀った堂があり、この台の下からラジウムを含んだ霊水は、肺病に効くといわれている。
水は枯れることなく湧き続けている。
Next to the main hall, there is a hall which has Kukai’s stone statue inside. Underneath of this hall, radium spring water gashes out which good for lung disease.
瑜祇塔（ゆぎとう）
混合峯楼閣瑜祇塔という。経典を表したもの。
瑜祇塔からは町並みや海が一望できる。
Yugi tower
The tower represent Buddhist scriptures. You ca see beautiful landscape from the tower.
後ろ向き薬師
本堂には前向きと後ろ向きの二体の秘仏薬師如来がまつられている。
火災の時、焼失から免れるため、本尊は光を放ちながら玉厨子山に飛び去った。新しい本堂と本尊ができたところ、避難していた本尊が戻ってきて、後ろ向きに本堂へ入った。
Reversed face Yakushi
Reversed face Yakushi can be worshipped from the back of the main hall as well as the front. When fire broke out, sparkle main deity run away to the mountain. When new main hall, and new main deity built, the original deity came back and entered backward.
