第22番札所 白水山 医王院 平等寺

弘法大師の霊水

大師が修行中、空中に五色の霊雲がたなびき、その中に金色の梵字が現れた。祈祷に使う加持水を求めて、その井戸を掘ると白い乳色をした水が湧きでた。その霊水で体を清め100日間の修行を重ねて薬師如来を刻み、万人みな平等に救済されるように祈った。

開運鏡の井戸といわれ、万病に効く霊水があり、日照りにも枯れることなく湧き出している。

Spiritual water
During training, Kukai saw 5different color of cloud in the sky and in the cloud had golden Siddham script. When he dug a well for getting water to pray, milky white water was gushed out. He purified himself with this spiritual water for 100days, and carved YakushiNyorai for salvation. This well is called “fortune mirror” and good for healing illness. This spiritual water gashed out in spite of a long drought. 

天井絵

天井や壁には色鮮やかな絵画が飾られている。本物の金箔が抜かれた壁画も見ることができる。

Picture on the ceiling
There is a beautiful picture on the ceiling and wall. You can see a wall painting which real golden part had removed. 
 

弘法大師の横顔

平等寺に正面にある小高い山は、弘法大師が寝ている横顔に見える。
