第18番札所 母養山 宝樹院 恩山寺

The 18th Boyozan Hozyuin Onzanji

ご本尊　薬師如来薬師如来

ご詠歌　子をうめる その父母の恩山寺 とぶらいがたき ことはあらじな

女人禁制の寺

かつては、女人禁制の寺であった。大師の母、玉依御前が訪ねてきたが、女人禁制のため入山できなかった。そのため、大師は、女人解禁の祈念を成就し、母を伴って登山した。

Women used to be forbidden to enter this temple. Mother of Kukai(Tamayorigozen) came here, but she couldn’t enter this mountain. Therefore, Kukai prayed for opening this temple for women, and climb the mountain accompanying with his mother.

剃髪所

大師の母は、ここで剃髪、出家し、髪を納めた。

Mother of Kukai cut her hair here and became a priest.

びらんじゅ

県指定の天然記念物。

大師が母のために記念として大師が植えた。

This tree is national nature treasure. Kukai planted it memorial to mother

 

摺袈裟

摺袈裟は恩山寺にしかないお守りで、滅罪生善（悪い事を良い事に変える御札）。

納経所でいただける。

Surigesa is special good luck charm that you can only get in this temple. It is for bad thing can change to good thing.
